Thaddeus Erdahl has been creating and teaching art for more than 25 years, specializing in figurative ceramic sculpture. Born and raised in La Porte City, Iowa, he earned a BA in Art Education and a BFA in Ceramics from the University of Northern Iowa, followed by an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida, he received an Alumni Fellowship from 2006 to 2009.

Erdahl was an Artist-in-Residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts from 2009 to 2010 and a recipient of the 2009 NCECA Graduate Fellowship. In 2015, he was one of four artists shortlisted for the American Craft Council’s Emerging Voices Award. Now based in Clarkesville, Georgia, he maintains an active studio practice, exhibits nationally and internationally, and teaches workshops throughout the country.

Outside the studio, Thaddeus shares a creative and active life with his wife, artist and educator Stephanie Stuefer, and their daughter, Adaline. Their Clarkesville home is filled with art, ongoing projects, three small dogs, a cat, and plenty of lively conversation.
